What Happens if My Tickets Get Cancelled?
Sometimes a primary marketplace (Ticketmaster, AXS, SeatGeek, or Live Nation) cancels an event or invalidates tickets after you've already started working an order. We know that's frustrating, especially if you did everything right on your end.
Here's exactly how payouts work in that situation. If the event itself was canceled by the marketplace — through no fault of yours — and you had already verified your order confirmation, you'll still be paid in full, even if you hadn't completed the ticket transfer yet.
How it works, step by step
Your payout is normally split across two milestones:
- Order confirmation verified
- Ticket transfer completed
If a marketplace cancels the event before you can complete the transfer step, we review what happened. If the cancellation was an event-wide cancellation — meaning the marketplace canceled or invalidated the event itself, not something specific to your account — you'll be paid for both milestones. This shows up on your payout as a Cancellation Acknowledgment Credit.
To qualify, you'll need:
- Your order confirmation already verified, and
- Proof of the cancellation (the marketplace's cancellation email)
Forward the marketplace email or any other relevant documentation to your unique TTC forwarding email address, and our team will review it.
What doesn't qualify
Not every cancellation is treated the same way. We review payouts on canceled orders case by case, and cancellations tied to account-specific issues (rather than the event itself being canceled) won't receive the additional credit. If your order falls into this category, you'll see it noted as Cancellation Acknowledgment on your account — this means it was reviewed, but didn't meet the criteria for the additional payout.
Quick Reference:
Type of Cancellation | Situation | Payout you will receive |
|---|---|---|
Cancellation Acknowledgment Credit | Order has been confirmed, transfer has been completed, but the event was later canceled | Full payout |
Cancellation Acknowledgment Credit | Order has been confirmed, transfer not yet done, event canceled by marketplace | Full payout |
Cancellation Acknowledgment | Order has been confirmed, transfer not yet done, cancellation tied to your account | May not qualify (case-by-case review) |
Unconfirmed | Order confirmation never verified | No payout |
