How do I stop participating?
You might be looking for two different things— pausing event notifications or formally ending your participation. They work very differently, so make sure you're using the right one.
Option 1: Pause Event Notifications (Keep Your Account Active)
If you just want a break from new event opportunities — without deactivating your account or affecting any existing obligations — you can turn off event announcements at any time.
- Go to Personal Details in your account.
- Under Notification Preference, find Event Opportunity Announcements.
- Toggle "Send me TTC event opportunity announcements" off.
This stops emails and texts about new events. It does not deactivate your account, affect your virtual card, or change any responsibilities for tickets you've already purchased.
You can turn this back on at any time — flip the toggle back on when you're ready to start receiving event opportunities again.
Option 2: Formally Stop Participating (Deactivate Your Account)
Can I stop participating at any time?
Yes. Participants may deactivate their account at any time, subject to the terms of their participation agreement, by providing 14 days' written notice.
What obligations remain after I give notice?
The following remain in effect until fully resolved, even after you stop making new purchases:
- Delivery of all tickets from purchases you have already completed
- Continued account access for any delayed-release tickets not yet transferred (some tickets have delayed delivery and aren't accessible until close to the event date — you must either continue providing access until they're fulfilled, or personally transfer those tickets before the event)
- Resolution of any outstanding financial obligations
Your account is officially closed once you've delivered all outstanding tickets and settled any amounts owed.
